(KMOV.com) – A Wood River man is facing charges for allegedly sexually abusing underage girls in Madison County.

Cameron Niethe, 20, who also goes by Cameron Gaither, is charged with five counts of criminal sexual abuse. Authorities believe Niethe recently sexually abused a girl at the Central Place Apartments in South Roxana. They also believe he sexually abused other girls between the ages of 12 and 16 throughout Madison County.

Niethe allegedly told the parents of victims he was younger than his actual age and would falsely claim to be in the military.

Police believe Niethe would target his victims on Facebook before sending or receiving pictures through Skype. Niethe then allegedly arranged a place to meet a victim for sex.
