St. Louis parking enforcement officer suspended amid investigation

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

The St Louis City Treasurer’s Office is investigating the mysterious actions of a parking enforcement officer.

Photographer Steve Patterson said he noticed a SUV parked along the 1500 block of Locust in downtown St. Louis for several days with a blank parking ticket on the windshield. On Wednesday, Patterson said he then saw a parking enforcement officer drop a blue bag into the car.

”I happened to see the parking enforcement officer put a bag in the car which seemed very strange to me,” Patterson says.

After a man walked up and drove the car away, Patterson said he grew more suspicious. Patterson first posted the pictures on his website, Urban Review STL.

"Anytime someone puts a fake ticket out every day and then having this mysterious drop off of a bag, that just doesn't add up."

In a statement, City Treasurer Tishaura Jones says the incident is under investigation and the officer has been suspended.
