ST. LOUIS, MO (KMOV.com) – Police in St. Louis are asking for the public’s assistance identifying a suspect who has been posing as a water company employee.

According to police, several larcenies occurred between August 7 and 9 where the suspect had approached elderly female victims posing as a water company employee to gain entry to a residence.

The suspect would then steal items from the home including jewelry.

Each victim reported they were grocery shopping prior to coming home. When they arrived home they were approached by the suspect.

The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 30-year-old with a short beard. He wore a white hard hat and a yellow vest, driving a black truck.

Detectives are working with the Frontenac Police Department, Town & Country Police Department, and the Creve Coeur Police Department to identify the suspect in the case.
