NORTH ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

One man was killed and three others were injured during shootings in north St. Louis Saturday morning. 

Homicide detectives were called to St. Louis Avenue and North Broadway around 12:30 a.m. after a vehicle struck two utility poles and a fence. Inside the wrecked vehicle, two men, ages 26 and 22, were found with gunshot wounds. Police said the men sustained the gunshots about a half a mile away in the 2800 block of North Florissant.  

Witnesses told police they saw two vehicles exchanging gunfire while traveling eastbound on St. Louis towards North Broadway. Following the accident, the other vehicle fled the area.

Both victims were rushed to the hospital after being located. The 26-year-old was listed in critical but stable condition and the 22-year-old was in critical, unstable condition. 

Around 4:40 a.m., Richard Williams, 28, of the 1500 block of East Grand, was pronounced dead after being found with gunshot wounds to the neck and jaw in the 2000 block of East Obear.

A witness reported hearing gunfire around 2 a.m. but did not contact police until after finding Williams’ body.

About 30 minutes later, a man was shot in the leg at Grand and Blair.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and listed in critical but stable condition. 

All investigations are still ongoing.
