ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – On Friday, Steve Harris caught up with a Harris Hero that was introduced to News 4 viewers last month.

Emily Linneman is a young girl who is battling cancer and refusing to let it get in the way of her love of basketball.

Two years after losing her dad to Leukemia, Linneman was diagnosed with a bone cancer that cost her a left leg. The disease eventually came back in her other leg, lungs and hip.

“This one’s inoperable so there’s not much we can do but pray for a miracle,” said her mom, Kim Linneman.

After seeing her story on News 4, Beth Cerami called the 17-year-old’s mother regarding a Facebook post.

“She saw my Facebook post about Emily supposed to be coming up with things for her bucket list,” the teen’s mom said.

“I said, ‘Would she like to ride a Harley? Because we have one,’” Cerami said.

“I said, ‘She’s a thrill seeker, so I wouldn’t see why she wouldn’t,’” Linneman said. “I asked Emily and she said, ‘Yeah mom, of course.’”

Cerami said, “And I invited everybody and they told friends.”

So the teenager geared up for her first ride on a Harley.

“I didn’t think I’d be able to because of my food,” Emiy said.

Emily led the long line of riders down Highway 40 to Chesterfield, where Surdyke Motorsports gave her a ride of her own.

“I just turned around and saw that it kept going and going and going, there was so many people,” Emily said. “It makes me feel really happy ‘cause I didn’t know that many people cared.”

“She’s fighting and she’s got a team of biker family behind her now, fighting with her,” said Cerami.
