SOUTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -

Police said they are searching for thieves who broke into a non-profit cat shelter in south St. Louis Wednesday morning.

Elizabeth Frick, the executive director of Tenth Life Cat Rescue, said burglars entered the shelter on Cherokee Street after shattering the front glass door.

The thieves allegedly stole computers, a television, and a safe that was bolted to the floor.

Frick said this is not the first time the shelter has been burglarized.

"It's a shame someone would target a non-profit organization," said Frick. "No one wants to have crime against them but to be targeted twice is really frustrating."

No one was injured during the break-in. All the cats were found unharmed.

The non-profit said it is working to set up a stronger security system.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police.
