EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOV.com) – A Metro East man is facing numerous charges after an identification card fell from his pocket while he was attacking a woman inside her home, according to police.

The victim called police on July 26 and reported a man she did not know came out from under her bed holding a screwdriver and told her he wanted sex. After telling the suspect ‘no,’ the victim was raped, police said.

After the attack, the victim ran from the house naked and jumped into her vehicle, where she called police.

While undressing at the woman’s home, police said, the suspect’s identification card fell out of his pocket.

John Yarbrough, 33, was charged on Friday with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, two counts of home invasion, two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault with a weapon and one count of residential burglary.  His bail was set at $750,000.

According to police, the suspect had to bend the metal bars on the victim’s window to enter the home.
