ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A 24-year-old robbery suspect is in custody after allegedly attempting to flee from police.

On June 16, according to police, James Simmons III was taken into custody after a pursuit by police ended at Riverview Boulevard and Interstate 270.

Simmons was previously identified by two victims as the person who robbed them at gunpoint, according to court documents. 

When Simmons was taken into custody, police said, he was found to be in possession of a weapon and the stolen items.

Simmons is charged with resisting arrest, stop by fleeing, a class D felony. He is currently being held on $5,000 bond.
