POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Police arrested a man suspected of stealing from a Poplar Bluff restaurant on Thursday.

Officers responded to Hayden’s Barbeque, located in the 800 block of West Maud, for a reported armed robbery around 3:10 p.m. When police arrived, witnesses informed them the suspect was armed with a knife and that he left the scene on foot after taking cash from the register.

Several witnesses told the officers where the suspect ran to, which led them to the suspect’s front door.

According to police, Ronald Lunsford, 55, was taken into custody after a knife and bank deposit bags, which contained $752.31 in checks and cash, were found inside his home.

Lunsford was taken to the Butler County Jail and charged with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.
