St. Louis named second best pet-friendly city in United States

St. Louis is known for baseball, toasted ravioli and now their pet-friendliness.

WalletHub, a financial review website, recently released their list of best and worst cities for pet lovers. The website named St. Louis the second best overall city in the country for those who love their furry friends.

The Gateway city was ranked ninth in budget for pet, healthcare and wellness and 20th in outdoor environment and amusement. WalletHub also revealed St. Louis has the third-most animal shelters per-capita.

According to WalletHub, the site created their rankings based on each city’s quantity and quality of pet-care providers and number of pet visits per-capita. The rankings consisted of 100 cities across the country.

First place went to Cincinnati, Ohio, while the last spot was given to Newark, New Jersey.
