O'FALLON, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

An O'Fallon, Missouri man was arrested after allegedly assaulting two victims and a SWAT team deployed after the suspect refused to surrender.

Preston Love, 55, was charged with two counts of second degree assault, two counts of armed criminal action and one count of property damage in the second degree.

Officers from the O'Fallon Police Department responded to the 300 block of J-Mark Ct. just after 2:30 p.m. on Sunday due to reports of multiple assaults.

Love allegedly struck one of the victims in the head with a box cutter and charged her vehicle after the woman and her daughter hid inside of the car.

A second suspect was then reportedly attacked by Love while trapped inside of his car. Police said Love threatened the victim with a box cutter and made statements threatening the man's life before returning to his apartment.

Authorities said officials made an attempt to contact Love, but he would not leave his apartment. The St. Charles County Regional SWAT team responded to the apartment and took the suspect into custody.

Love was treated for minor injuries at a hospital and was released to police custody. He is being held on $75,000 bond.
