St. Louis man accused of tying victim up with duct tape during armed robbery

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A St. Louis man is accused of duct taping a person inside his apartment during an armed robbery in St. Louis County.

Aaron Ryan Umstead, 22, is accused of unlawfully entering a home in the 2350 block of Timberview Road on February 4. After entering the home, Umstead, police said, displayed a gun and took an undisclosed amount of money from the resident.

According to police, during the robbery, the victim was tied up with duct tape inside the residence.

Umstead is charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and two counts of armed criminal action. He is currently being held on a $250,000 cash-only bond.
