CAHOKIA, Ill. (KMOV.com) – Two lightning strikes caused damage within 30 minutes during Sunday night storms in Cahokia, Illinois.

The first strike hit a transformer behind a Walmart store, located in the 1500 block of Camp Jackson Road, around 8:30 p.m. The lightning strike caused the power to go out at the store, forcing it closed for the remainder of the night.

The second strike hit a vent pipe, causing it to catch fire, at Praxair Gas Company. The fire was put out and the scene was secured shortly after the strike occurred.
