Former union bookkeeper pleads guilty to embezzlement in McLeansboro, Illinois

MCLEANSBORO, Ill. (KMOV.com) -- A 53-year-old woman pleads guilty to embezzlement and theft from a labor union, according to court documents released Friday.

The documents state that Carolyn Hall admitted to taking around $26,500 of cash receipts from members’ due payments for personal use while  while she was the bookkeeper for Laborers' Local 1197.

The thefts occurred from around July 2012 and continued through February 2014.

Hall faces up to five years in prison, a fine up to $250,000 and up to three years supervised release.  Her sentencing has been scheduled for December 1.

Laborers' Local 1197 is headquartered in McLeansboro, Illinois and is part of the Laborers' International Union of North America.
