St. Charles County Police offer anonymous prescription drug take-back

Posted: Updated:

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. ( - St. Charles County officials are offering a safe and easy way for residents to get rid of any unneeded prescription drugs.

The prescription drug take-back event is being hosted to try to cut down on prescription drug abuse.

A drop box is available in the St. Charles County Police Department to allow residents to remain anonymous while getting the unwanted or expired prescription drugs safely off the streets.

"The response has been overwhelming, we're quite pleased," said Chief David L. Todd of St. Charles County Police. "That's medicine that's getting out of the hands of teens, of children and people who don't need it."

The drug drop-off box is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is sponsored by CVS pharmacy.
