MARYVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) – Authorities are searching for a man who allegedly snuck into his ex-girlfriend’s Metro East apartment and pinned her on the bed.

Jacob McClary, 23, is accused of entering his ex-girlfriend’s apartment in Maryville in the middle of the night. He then proceeded to climb on top of her in bed, police said.

“When she woke up, she said he was on top of her holding her down. She was saying things like ‘why are you doing this to me?’” said Sgt. Brandon Ponce with Maryville Police. “He stood on her feet and grabbed her and was holding her down.”

Police said McClary had the upper hand in the struggle until the victim sprung loose.

“At one point she bit him to get away from him as soon as he let go. That’s when she took off outside,” Sgt. Ponce said.

McClary has a criminal past and drug addiction, police said. The suspect could face several charges, including felony home invasion.

“If we can find him, the sooner the better so that way we can talk to him if he wants to talk to us, and if not we’ll issue the charges on him,” said Sgt. Ponce.

Anyone with information about the suspect's whereabouts is asked to call police.

The victim was not seriously hurt.
