ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

The Center for Women in Transition received a $36,000 donation in the form of a new roof from Kirberg Company.

The group home on Courtois Street was in need of a roofing upgrade.

At the home, women leaving jail get the lives of themselves and their families back on track.

"The women really have a place to call home, a roof over their heads and that quite, safe space to make the change that they need to make in their lives," said Laura Toledo, executive director of the Women in Transition shelter.

Women have been housed in the facility since 2005 and the center has been in the St. Louis area since 1997.
