NORTH ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) - Clayton-based Centene Corporation's future service center is rising above a site which used to be occupied by a closed-down car dealership in north St. Louis County.

Located near I-270 at New Halls Ferry Road, the $15 million expansion of Centene is expected to add 200 new jobs.

Not far from the new Centene construction, Schnucks is investing almost $100 million into a new distribution warehouse in NorthPark, which will retain 400 jobs. Also in NorthPark, Sweden-based company SKF is building a news technology and manufacturing center, which will add an extra 75 jobs to the near 400 employees of the company in St. Louis.

A $300 million investment at Boeing will add an extra 700 jobs, though Boeing has not revealed the details of their expansion.

"We have a very good pipeline of businesses interested in going into North County, near North County and beyond," said Sheila Sweeney of the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership.

The Centene project is expected to be open and operational by the end of the year.
