Shots ring out outside bar in Shiloh

SHILOH, Ill. (KMOV.com) -

Police said someone fired several shots at people standing outside the Hangar Bar in Shiloh Monday night.

Authorities said the bartender’s car window was blown out by a bullet, and three men ducked to the ground to avoid the bullets. One of the three was hit by debris, but he did not require medical attention.

“We found evidence of three rounds. Two struck the building and one struck the back window of a car parked in the parking lot,” said Shiloh Police Chief Jim Stover.

Bar owner Mark Lang said a customer called him when police arrived, causing him to rush to the tavern. Lang elected to close down his establishment three hours early.

Lang said the Hangar has surveillance cameras, but those camera focus on the building and did not capture any of the shooting.

“Seems like a random thing, it’s not something that goes on every day,” Lang said.

Victims said they could not tell if the shots were fired from a passing car or from an apartment complex across the street. The apartment complex is next to Whiteside Middle School.
