NORTHFIELD, Ill. (KMOV.com) -- The Kraft Heinz Company is voluntarily recalling around 36,000 cases of Kraft Singles because part of the individual wrapping remains on the slice of cheese after being unwrapped and could pose of choking hazard.

The recall applies only to 3 and 4 pound size of Kraft Singles American and White American pasteurized prepared cheese with a best buy date of December 29, 2015 through January 4, 2016 with manufacturing code S54 or S55.

The company has received 10 consumer complaints including three reports of choking.

The cases were shipped to retailers in the United States, Puerto Rico and Grand Cayman. The Kraft Heinz Company says anyone who has purchased the product should return it to the store where it was purchased for an exchange of refund.
