Officer's body camera captures moment woman told of toddler left in hot van

Posted: Updated:

TULSA, Ok. (KMOV.com) – The gut-wrenching moment an officer confronted a woman accused of leaving her toddler inside a hot van was captured on a body camera.

“Oh, God! Oh, God! I can’t believe I did that,” Hannah Secondi screamed. “”Oh, my God! My husband’s going to kill me.”

Secondi is accused of leaving her 1-year-old daughter inside the vehicle on a hot summer day.

The toddler was discovered inside the van by a couple who walked by the vehicle in a Walmart parking lot and heard something. The couple called 911 and were able to let the girl out after finding an unlocked door.

“It’s not like she just, you know, ‘Oh, I just ran inside really quick. I completely forgot. The day has been crazy,’ and she was alone. There was more people with her. There was no reason why the baby should have been left in the car,” said Chrysty Lansdowne, one of the people who found the child.

The toddler was treated and released into the custody of her father after the incident.

Secondi is facing child endangerment charges.
