ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A man who was employed by J.C. Penney at the West County Center is accused of stealing over $1,000 worth of merchandise from the store.

Ernest Dominic Townsend, 27, is accused of stealing miscellaneous clothing and shoes, valued at a total of $1,226, between March and April.

According to the probable cause statement, Townsend concealed the items in a backpack and took it from the store at the end of his shift.
