Two separate late-night shootings reported in under two hours Wednesday

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Two different shootings occurred late Wednesday night in two separate St. Louis locations. 

The first shooting occurred around 9:40 p.m. in the 2900 block of Union Boulevard, near the St. Louis Avenue intersection.

A 36-year-old man was shot twice, once in the chest and another in the hand, by an unknown occupant that was in a burgundy SUV. He was conscious and breathing when being transported to a nearby hospital, police said.

The second shooting occurred around 11:29 p.m. in the 3000 block of North Newstead Avenue. According to police, a 25-year-old man was shot in the chest while walking down the street. He was transported to the hospital where he was listed in critical, unstable condition.

Authorities have not released any information regarding suspects in the cases.

Both incidents are ongoing investigations.
