TOWN AND COUNTRY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A woman spotted a police vehicle parked in a disabled space outside the Whole Foods in Town and Country and took pictures of the possible code violation.

When the officer noticed her snapping photos of the unit, the woman said he started to yell at her. The woman, who asked to remain anonymous, said the officer's actions struck a nerve because she is someone with a disability.

"You can watch me physically struggle to walk," said the woman. "Officers have a hard job, but what he did was wrong."

A spokesperson for the Town and Country Police Department said the officer was responding to a call and backed into the disabled parking spot to prevent a traffic jam.

The department official also confirmed the officer had a conversation with the woman, but said there was no indication he spoke out of line.

Town and Country police said officers avoid parking in disabled spots, unless it is the last resort.
