SOUTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -

A south St. Louis woman said her pet Chihuahua was stolen from her front yard.

Olivia Hok said her teacup Chihuahua named Killa was stolen from the front yard of her home on Tholozon. Hok said it all began when a silver Ford Explorer up in front of her home.

“They were parked right there, not all the way into my driveway but a little bit in. Half the door was still open and the people were yelling ‘just grab it! Just grab it!’ It was an easy getaway because Morganford is up the street,” said Hok.

Hok said the Chihuahua is an expensive breed worth as much as $1,000. The American Kennel Association said 350 dogs have been stolen in 2015 and warn that those dogs are often sold on Craigslist or on parking lots.

“She means everything to me. She’s like another kid, she’s everything. She follows me when I’m sad and sits and protects me. If somebody yells, she’ll bark at them,” Hok said.

Hok said Killa is also a certified service dog.
