EDWARDSVILLE, IL (KMOV.com) – A Caseyville man is accused of assaulting a 16-year-old female who had been babysitting for him in January.

According to police, 41-year-old Jeremy Embrich assaulted the teen while living in Troy, IL. The Troy Police Department investigated the allegations with the help of the Madison County Children’s Advocacy Center, the Illinois State Police Crime Lab, and Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center.

Embrich is charged with two counts of criminal sexual assault and one count of aggravated criminal abuse which is a Class 2 felony. The maximum penalty for a Class 1 felony is 4-15 years in prison and the maximum for a Class 2 felony is 3-7 years in prison.

The 15-month old child of Embrich had been removed from his custody at the time of his arrest. Police have detained Embrich on a $1,000,000 bond.
