Over $12,000 of items in car theft in the Festus area

FESTUS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Over $12,000 of items were stolen from vehicles parked in a driveway in the 11000 block of River Hills Road in the Festus area, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office reports.

Someone went inside two unlocked vehicles and stole two lime green hand-held digital Motorola radios and a black canvas bag that had sunscreen and 10 key chain flashlights that were new and unopened. The thefts occurred between 9:00 p.m., July 15 and 5:30 a.m., July 16.

Police were able to get fingerprints and DNA from the scene and submitted it as evidence.

As of July 23, the stolen items have not been found and there are no suspects or arrests, according Captain Ron Arnhart.
