MARTHASVILLE, MO (KMOV.com) – An 18-year-old man is in custody after his mother found a stolen computer in his possession.

According to police, a homeowner in the 140 block of South Kings Drive, reported that a laptop valued at $800 and other property had been stolen between April 15-25.

Deputies discovered later that a laptop matching the description had already been turned in by Tyler Thurman’s mother on April 22.

Thurman’s mother believed he had used her bag to steal several items and had found the stolen laptop inside it.  Thurman could not provide a credible explanation as to why he had the laptop in his possession. He has been charged with felony stolen property.

This is not Thurman’s first run in with the law. Last year he and three others were arrested for stealing six guns, video game consoles, tablets, and cash.
