ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) -- Robin Smith and her husband have some news to share and we at KMOV are as anxious as everyone else to find out what the days ahead have in store for her and Isaac.

Over a 40 plus year career, Robin has truly woven herself into the very fabric of the St. Louis community.

Robin has received recognition from her own peers, including Emmy Awards for News Reporting, and News Anchor, plus winner of the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award for reporting.

A St. Louis native, Robin has given countless hours by lending her time and talents to dozens of community organizations, lending a voice to many of those in need. Crisis Nursery, Forest Park Forever, the St. Louis effort for AIDS and the National Association of Black Journalists to name just a few. As recently as this year, Robin was honored at the St. Louis County NAACP 77th Annual Freedom Fund Leadership Dinner.

KMOV is planning on a big sendoff as we say goodbye to one of the legendary journalists in St. Louis broadcast history. Tune in this coming Friday as we celebrate the Robin we know and love as we look back at some of her most memorable moments. It all starts at 10 a.m. when Great Day St. Louis welcomes Robin on to the set to talk about her storied career, then don’t miss Robin’s final turn in the anchor chair as she returns home to anchor News 4 at Noon. On News 4 at 6 p.m., we will celebrate with Robin as she speaks to the loyal audience at home who have meant so much to her over the years.

“Countless viewers have literally grown up trusting in Robin’s honesty, integrity and experience as she has brought the story of the St. Louis region home to you. She will be missed and we look forward to enjoying a big celebration come Friday.” Said Mike Murphy, VP, General Manager at KMOV 4.

Everyone at KMOV wishes Robin and her husband Isaac “Bud” Stallworth much happiness as they start the next chapter in their lives.

Robin’s last day will be on Friday July 31, 2015.
