A man was sentenced Thursday for robbing Mom’s Deli in south St. Louis in October.

Jeffrey Cooper was sentenced to 12 years in prison and must serve 85 percent of that sentence. He plead guilty to first degree robbery and armed criminal action. Cooper robbed the deli at gun point and ran off with the cash register drawer.

At the sentence hearing, Cooper apologized to the victim and the family that owns Mom’s Deli, saying he committed the robbery because of drug problems.
