COTTLEVILLE, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The City of Cottleville will give people with outstanding warrants a second chance during a weeklong amnesty program.

The amnesty program will begin Wednesday and last until July 29. The purpose of the program is to give people a second chance by allowing them to avoid jail time.

During the amnesty week, anyone with an outstanding warrant from the city can report to the municipal court, this includes those living in Cottleville and anyone who received a ticket while driving through the city.

City officials are asking anyone who plans to show up to have payment ready in cash or certified check.

The Cottleville City Hall will be open during the amnesty week from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

After the amnesty period concludes, police will conduct a fugitive apprehension program for those who decided not to take advantage of the amnesty period.
