ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Demetrious Johnson Charitable Foundation hosted the "march to promote peace, justice and healing: Reduce family, community and police violence" in St. Louis on Saturday.

The event focused on activities for children and educational panels on trauma, stress and developing youth leadership.

“Let’s just show up and show out St. Louis. Let’s show some love. Let me people know that yeah we really do care,” said Alderman Jeffrey Boyd. “Let the gang bangers and the gun toting guys that want to go out and shoot people know that actually there are some people who really do care and value other people’s lives.”

The event took place at the Demetrious Johnson Charitable Foundation at 724 N. Union Blvd., St. Louis, 63108.

Individuals and families who have lost a loved one to a homicide in the city of St. Louis were able to receive updates regarding the status of that investigation.
