ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged 43-year-old Robert Smith for attempting to expose another person to HIV infection on Tuesday.

Smith used social media, including Craigslist, to contact possible victims.  On July 20, Smith attempted to have sexual intercourse with an undercover detective denying that he was HIV positive.

Smith was informed that he was HIV positive in 2014. He is being held on a $50,000 cash only bond.

There are no other victims who have come forward at this time. St. Louis County Police are asking if anyone believes they have been victimized by Smith to call 314-889-2341.
