Two suspects arrested for north St. Louis homicide

Posted: Updated:

(KMOV.com) – One person was killed during a shooting in north St. Louis Friday night.

The incident happened around 8:45 p.m. in the 1300 block of North Garrison. Police found the victim, 24-year-old Marquis Strickland, suffering from gunshot wounds to his back, thigh, abdomen, and triceps.

He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Police arrested two suspects responsible for the shooting. The first suspect claims he and the victim had an ongoing feud when he says he saw Strickland pull out a gun. The suspect then pulled out his gun and fired at Strickland, striking him.

Strickland attempted to run from the scene, but the suspect continued to pursue him, firing shots as they ran. No gun was found in Strickland’s possession. The suspect returned to the scene where police arrested him.

The second suspect says he heard gunshots, pulled out his gun, and began firing erratically at unknown subjects. After resisting arrest, he was also taken into custody.

The identity of the suspects has not been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
