Heavy traffic on Poplar Street Bridge after gas line hit by construction crews during rush hour

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The ramp from the Poplar Street Bridge to Interstate 70 westbound closed Thursday morning due to a gas line that was struck by construction crews.

A gas line under the bridge was hit around 6:50 a.m. forcing crews to close to ramp. According to the St. Louis Fire Department's Twitter page, Laclede Gas was requested to respond to the break. 

The ramp reopened around 7:30 a.m. but there was still heavy traffic along the bridge due to the earlier closure.
