ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A south St. Louis convenience store was robbed at gunpoint late Sunday night and police released video of the incident to help catch the crook.

Around 11:27 p.m., a man armed with a gun walked into the 7-Eleven store in the 5600 block of Gravois Avenue.

Police described the man as 17-23 years old, approximately five feet, seven inches tall with a medium build. Authorities said they hope someone will be able to recognize the suspect based on his distinctive sweatshirt.

The suspect announced he was robbing the store, pointed a gun at the clerk, who emptied the cash register into a shopping bag and gave it to the suspect, who took the money and left the scene on foot.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).

No one was injured during the robbery.

The investigation is ongoing.
