EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOV.com) -

Three suspects were taken into custody after allegedly flourishing a weapon while driving through St. Louis on Friday afternoon.

At approximately 2 p.m., St. Louis police attempted to stop the suspects, who were driving a Mustang.

The suspects fled and city police pursued them until they crossed the Stan Musial Veteran's Memorial Bridge.

Upon crossing into Illinois, the Illinois State Police, U.S. Marshals and East St. Louis officers began to chase the suspects.

The suspects then reportedly abandoned the Mustang at 18th and College, but police said they were able to take the three suspects into custody.

Authorities are still searching for the weapons.

No information was available on what charges the suspects could face.
