A touring band visiting the St. Louis area to perform lost thousands of dollars in equipment after their tour van was broken into downtown.
When it finished, their van had been broken into and thousands in equipment was missing. Taken from their van were six computers, passports and cash.
Tanlines is not the first band to be targeted by criminals while in St. Louis and the city is starting to get a bad reputation in the music industry.
In October, $30,000 worth of instruments and equipment was taken from a tour bus when a band stopped to eat a Pappy's Smokehouse. In March, the band Two Cow Garage had their van ransacked while it was parked in a downtown St. Louis parking garage.
Tanlines did play their show at Firebird Wednesday night. Authorities have not arrested anyone and said they have not found any surveillance video that would help the investigation. Despite the theft, Tanlines said it will play in St. Louis again.
