COLUMBUS, Ohio (KMOV.com) - A United Express flight traveling from St. Louis to Washington D.C. was diverted to Columbus, Ohio Thursday morning to remove a disruptive passenger.

The Trans States Airlines flight #3342 operating as United Express departed from St. Louis at approximately 8:35 a.m. Wednesday and was diverted to Columbus, Ohio after a passenger became disruptive, officials said.

Fifty passengers and three crew members were on-board the Embraer 145 when it landed without incident in Columbus at approximately 11:04 a.m.

Law enforcement removed the disruptive passenger and completed a sweep of the aircraft "out of an abundance of caution," officials said.

No information was released on the alleged disruptive behavior of the removed passenger or whether any charges will be filed.

The flight was scheduled to arrive in Washington D.C. at 11:45 a.m. eastern standard time.
