SOUTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -

FBI agents raided two homes in Dogtown Wednesday afternoon.

Agents, some of whom were undercover, stormed an apartment on Art Hill around 3:30 p.m. Authorities also conducted a raid at a home one mile away on Prather.  The St. Louis County Drug Taskforce was at the home on Prather.

“I was going to the post office when I saw a tank in front of my building and a lot of police officers with assault rifles. It’s usually a pretty quiet street,” said neighbor Holly Rogers.

The FBI said residents were never in danger. News 4 noticed that someone was taken into custody at each home, but the FBI said charges have not been filed.

The FBI did not provide further information on the raid, but released the following statement:

"The FBI abides by the U.S. Department of Justice policy which has to balance between the public's right to know and the preservation of an individual's right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty. As we discussed earlier, there is no immediate threat to public safety at the two locations you are asking about. Generally speaking, if there is publicly available information on pending FBI investigations, it is released through the federal court process."
