ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A Chesterfield man is facing his seventh driving while intoxicated charge after a car accident and an analysis from a breathalyzer test determined he was two-times over the legal limit, police said.

Joseph Carbone, 73, was arrested after his vehicle was involved in an accident on April 13 near Clayton Road and Meadow Road, according to police.

When police arrived at the accident scene, they noticed Carbone had signs that were consistent with intoxication, including smelling like alcohol and bloodshot eyes.  Police said Carbone admitted to drinking.

The arresting officer said Carbone was unable to understand instructions for a Walk-And-Turn test and appeared intoxicated during the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test.

Carbone was taken into custody and his blood alcohol concentration was .170, police said.

Carbone was previously convicted six times of driving while intoxicated. His license was revoked at the time of his seventh arrest.

Carbone is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.
