ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A 53-year-old woman was robbed and pushed to the ground after leaving a Cardinals game on Sunday night.

The victim, who asked for her identity to be concealed, said she left the game early. As she was walking to her car, two men approached her. The robbery happened around 9:30 p.m. near 7th and Pine.

“They pushed me down on the ground, I started screaming, and they wanted to get my cell phone. They grabbed the strap of my pouch and ripped it off of me and ran,” she said.

The woman said she was bruised, scratched and shaken. The thieves got away with her ID, house keys and several credit cards.

“I'm scared, I'm scared,” said the victim who said she's been going to Cardinals games alone for several years.

After what happened, she said she won't be going back downtown alone. She said she did not see any nearby police officers.

A spokesperson for St. Louis Police says in addition to the off-duty officers that work secondary around the stadium, they increase patrols during events like baseball games. If there can't be an officer on every corner, this victim hopes others will take what happened to her as a warning.

“After I got mugged, there were ladies walking by with their purses swinging back and forth, I said ladies I was just mugged, you don't know if there was another pack of guys down the next block,” the victim said.
