SOUTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) - A 30-year-old man faces nine felony charges after allegedly committing several crimes targeting women in south St. Louis.

"[Jason Mosby] was preying on women and children in some of our neighborhoods for about a week," said Alderwoman Christine Ingrassia (Ward 6).

Police said on two separate occasions Mosby maced and robbed women waiting at a bus stop near the intersection of Russell and Jefferson.

On June 18, authorities said he approached a woman eating inside her car, held her at knife point, and took off with some of her belongings.

Mosby is also accused of macing a mother and her 6-year-old child, then stealing her purse.

Ingrassia said police arrested Mosby over the weekend.

He is currently being held in police custody on a $50,000 cash only bond, in addition to a $500,000 secured bond.

"I'm glad he's off the streets," said south St. Louis resident Janae Woodson.
