ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) –A St. Louis man is facing charges after allegedly driving with a blood alcohol content more than three times the legal limit.

Michael S. McGlynn, 33, was arrested after his gray pickup truck crashed into a stop sign at Taylor Road on March 18, police said.

According to police, the officer responding to the accident observed numerous signs of intoxication, including heavily slurred speech and a strong alcohol odor.

In the probable cause statement, police said McGlynn admitted to drinking alcohol before getting behind the wheel.

Police attempted to conduct a field sobriety test, which they said McGlynn could not stay standing for, then they asked him to consent to a Breathalyzer test, which he did. McGlynn's blood alcohol content was .294, according to police.

McGlynn is charged with one count of driving while intoxicated. He is currently being held on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
