ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- The Missouri Department of Transportation has opened the new eastbound Interstate 64 Daniel Boone Bridge to traffic.
All four eastbound lanes of the roadway opened over the weekend.
Construction on the $111 million bridge began in January 2013. Crews will now begin rehab work on the closed eastbound bridge, which will reopen to westbound traffic later this year.
The current westbound bridge will be demolished early next year.
