(KMOV) -- An Alton man was sentenced to 20 years in prison Friday for maintaining drug-involved premises near a school, conspiracy to distribute cocaine, felon in possession of ammunition, felon in possession of a firearm and distribution of cocaine near a school.
Miles L. Musgraves, aka "Lou", 41, received 240 months for the drug convictions and 120 months for the firearm and ammunition offenses.
Musgraves agreed to work as a confidential informant, but instead of providing assistance, he planted cocaine and a gun in another man's car and called police in an attempt to frame him.
Police recovered the cocaine and the gun and charged the subject.
After Alton police discovered what Musgraves had done, the charges were dropped against the other man and Musgraves was instead charged.
