South County mural receiving rejuvenation, addition

Posted: Updated:
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A man is bringing new life to a mural on the outside of Helen Fitzgerald's restaurant in south St. Louis County.

Ray Harvey is replenishing the color in the American Flag painting on the brick wall that stands 15 feet tall and 65 feet wide. It was originally painted in 2002, but over time the mural had experienced weathering.

Harvey will also add a painting of Uncle Sam that will read, “We want you.”

Between the two paints, the mural will be a total of 95 feet in width.
