Reavis Barracks Road closed after water main break

ST. LOUIS, MO (KMOV.com) – Reavis Barracks Road will be closed throughout Thursday afternoon following a water main break.

The road was closed between Union and Green Park at 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning. According to Public Information Manager David Wrone, a 12-inch water main running beneath the street ruptured causing widespread damage to the road's pavement.

Missouri American Water is currently working to fix the damaged water pipe and restore the road's pavement. Around 21,000 vehicles travel through this area on a normal day.

Residents whose homes are located between Union and Green Park will have access to their households throughout the repairs.

The roadway is expected to reopen sometime Thursday night.
