Eastbound Boone Bridge ribbon cutting taking place Thursday

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – It has taken 12 years and $111 million but drivers heading east from St. Charles County will soon be able to drive over the new Boone Bridge.

At 10 a.m. Thursday, local, state and federal officials will cut the ribbon to open the new bridge.

Missouri Department of Transportation officials told News 4 even though they will have the ceremony on Thursday they still have work to complete before the bridge is open to traffic. MoDOT said they need to stripe the bridge and remove concrete barriers before traffic can drive over it. They hope to have the work completed sometime over the weekend.
