Police searching for suspect who robbed payday loan store in St. Charles

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Police said they are searching for a man who robbed a payday loan store in St. Charles Wednesday morning.

Authorities said the man entered the Cash America store on Clay around 10:30 a.m. and started to ask the clerk questions about payments before he jumped over the counter and ordered the clerk to open the register. According to police, the clerk complied with the request and gave the suspect money from the drawer.

Police said the suspect then took the clerk to the back and demanded he open the safe. The suspect took money from the safe and left the store. Authorities believe he drove away in silver Nissan Altima.

According to police, the suspect matches the description of a man who robbed a Cash America location in St. Ann.
